GUANGZHOU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A land preparation project for the Wanqingsha Integrated Circuit Industrial Park in Nansha District, Guangzhou, passed completion acceptance on July 30, marking a key step in securing industrial land for the park and providing strong support for future industrial projects, according to China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC). The project was constructed by China Railway 25th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. .
Integrated circuits are the cornerstone of today's information technology industry. The outline of Guangzhou's 15th Five-Year Plan, released in May this year, explicitly calls for expanding the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry, accelerating breakthroughs in key areas such as specialty process chip manufacturing, automotive-grade chip design, advanced packaging, and third-generation semiconductors. It also supports Nansha in building an industrial chain cluster featuring wide-bandgap semiconductors. The Nansha district government has simultaneously issued measures to promote high-quality development of the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry, providing support in project construction, R&D and innovation, industrial ecosystem development, and factor guarantees, with the goal of making Nansha a key pillar of China's "third pole" of integrated circuit development.
The Wanqingsha Integrated Circuit Industrial Park serves as the core carrier of this strategic layout. The park has already gathered more than 30 leading enterprises, including Xinyue Neng, Nansha Jingyuan, Lingwei Shijue and Rongjie Energy, making it one of the few domestic industrial clusters centered on the automotive-grade third-generation semiconductor industry chain.
The land preparation project (phase II) for the park, which passed completion acceptance, covers a total area of approximately 237,300 square meters, including site clearing, earth backfilling, temporary drainage and supporting facilities. During construction, despite a tight schedule and large-scale earthwork in the rainy season, the project team adopted sectional flow construction and shift-work patterns, with well-arranged process connections. To cope with frequent rains, builders constructed an interconnected temporary drainage network and a three-level sedimentation basin, optimized the elevation connection with surrounding municipal stormwater pipes, and improved temporary traffic diversion measures on surrounding roads, ensuring orderly and safe progress and on-schedule completion.
Nansha District of Guangzhou is accelerating the development of its "Xin Chen Da Hai" industrial cluster, which represents integrated circuits, emerging industries and the maritime economy. The completion of the phase II land preparation project will effectively expand the park's reserve of developed industrial land, providing solid support for subsequent investment promotion and project implementation, helping accelerate the formation of a semiconductor and integrated circuit industrial cluster in Nansha, and contributing to the construction of the core zone for China's "third pole" of integrated circuit development.
