LANZHOU, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The front-area project of a 300,000-tonne-per-year ferrosilicon plant of Gansu Baomei Xitie Alloy Co., Ltd. passed completion acceptance on Monday, according to China Railway 25th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. The acceptance marks the full completion of the supporting building project for a major investment attraction project in Gansu Province, laying the foundation for the overall operation of the project.
The Gansu Baomei project plans to build a main industrial project with an annual output of 300,000 tonnes of ferrosilicon, supported by a 400-megawatt source-grid-load-storage system and a 3-million-tonne-per-year silica project, with a total investment of about 4.16 billion yuan. The overall scale of the project ranks among the top three globally, with outstanding advantages in leading technology and a complete industrial chain. Its products will all be used for internal supporting of Baowu Magnesium Industry and Baowu Steel, making it a landmark project for the transformation and upgrading of the metallurgical industry in northwest China.
The front-area project that passed acceptance has a total floor area of 22,900 square meters, covering three single buildings: an office building, a canteen and activity center, and an apartment building. It is a core infrastructure project to ensure later production and operation and improve employee living facilities. During construction, the project team strictly implemented standardized management systems such as raw material entry verification, three-level inspection of procedures, and special acceptance of concealed works, and carried out full-process refined control over sub-projects including building structure and decoration, successfully completing all construction tasks.
Once completed, the Gansu Baomei project will continue to promote the green and high-end upgrade of the Yongdeng metallurgical industry, empower the high-quality development of the regional industrial economy, and inject new momentum into the layout of the new materials industry and the building of a modern industrial system in northwest China.
