NANNING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The last box girder was poured at the precast beam yard of the Liuzhou-Qintang Expressway (Liuqin Expressway) project undertaken by China Railway 25th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. on Sunday, marking the full completion of box girder prefabrication for the expressway and the entry of the whole line into the construction sprint stage, according to China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC).

The Liuqin Expressway is an important part of the Luzhai-Qinzhou Port Expressway, a north-south seaward corridor in Guangxi's expressway network. The line is about 123.4 km long, passing through Laibin, Guigang and Liuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and connecting with the Wuzhou-Liuzhou and Hezhou-Bama expressways. It has a designed speed of 120 km/h.

The beam yard that completed the box girder prefabrication task was responsible for producing 857 box girders. To ensure smooth progress, the project team dynamically adjusted production schedules based on site conditions. In response to technical difficulties in the alternating prefabrication of multiple girder types, it organized technical forces to tackle them one by one, optimized work procedures, and steadily improved construction efficiency.

"The intelligent mixing system controls the concrete production ratio, the automatic curing platform monitors the temperature and humidity of the girder, and key data such as prestressing tension values are monitored in real time, so that curing measures can be adjusted in time to effectively improve girder quality," said Zhang Tao, chief engineer of the project of China Railway 25th Bureau. In terms of quality control, the project team combined standardized construction with intelligent means, incorporated rebar processing, concrete pouring and girder curing into a unified quality control process, strictly implemented raw material entry inspection and procedure handover acceptance systems, and controlled the quality of finished box girders from the source.

Once completed and open to traffic, the Liuqin Expressway project will further improve the layout of Guangxi's expressway network, enhance the traffic distribution capacity of Qinzhou Port in the Beibu Gulf, and is of great significance for promoting high-quality regional economic and social development.
